Blog Number 5: First Week Completed!

I have not posted in Forever! But since I last posted, so much has changed! I no longer live in Southeastern Georgia. I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I have moved into a new house. A house that has walls covered with animal heads from various hunting trips. I mean they are everywhere. And I am an animal lover, I just love them alive. I have three roommates. They are completely wonderful. Elisabeth, ( Lis ) is just turned 19 and is from Minnesota. Kara is 24 and is from Michigan. Trisha is 20 and from Wisconsin. They are so great. We all get along so well and So far, there has been no conflicts!

The first week was intense. Orientation completely wore me out. I mean like I would come home in the evenings and be so exhausted. The teachers threw so much information at us in those three days that I was completely on overload. It was insane. This first week has been awesome. All of the freshman take the same classes the first semester. All the Music students and Ministry students... All 200 of us take the same core classes this first semester. Out of two hundred students and a three thousand person auditorium... The teachers had to assign seats and I ended up on the front row. Seriously, out of all the kids and only ten front row seats available and the last name "L" ends up on the front row. God new that I needed to be broken of the texting. Haha!

Music classes haven't started yet. There is a specialized class that only the music students take called "The Valuable Everyone." In this class the teacher told us that the reason we aren't taking music classes right off the bat is because too many musicians ( I am considered a musician because my instrument is my voice ) hide behind their instrument. They feel like they can look like they are engaging with God and looking spiritual but not really engaging with God. It is a great point. Also, musicians tend to feel like they are nothing more than their voice. We as musicians need to realize that if we never sang or played another note that God would still want us and we are still valuable to Him.

I have also started work. I love working. I work every weekend. Saturdays from about 11 am to 11 pm. I get a small break in between to get some food. I also work Sunday mornings from 11 to 4. The store is a very slow store and doesn't do nearly the same business that mine back home did but it is great and I am blessed to have a job.

This is Not home. I am not sure that it will be. But God is so good in bringing me here. I am growing to Love it. FMA is so good for me. This will be a place where I know that I am going to grow and God has major plans for me!

I am grateful for all the prayers! I hope this hasn't bored anyone too much! I love you all!
